13 weeks

 

Size of Baby:  according to baby center my  baby is almost 3 inches long the size of a medium shrimp and weighs nearly an ounce

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  well probably a lot since we just had Christmas and I ate for 3 days straight. I will know on Dec 12th

Maternity Clothes: one pair of jeans that I got from Belk and I love them! they even have cute butt pockets..as if I need to draw attention there :/

Gender: We don’t get to pick! We are not going to find out until he/she arrives! We are working on picking out a name for a boy and a girl and man that’s hard!

Belly Button In/Out: Still in

Stretch Marks:  yeap…but they are leftovers

Movement: tiny flutters … not often I am ready for some bigger kicks!

Sleep: good until I have to potty!

What I miss: DIET MT DEW!!!

What I am looking forward to: a new year!  2011 wasn’t bad but after all this is the year our family becomes 4!!

Cravings/Aversions: strange as it may be  I REALLY want some fried shrimp with lots of lemon juice squeezed on it!

Symptoms: Tired, Hungry, NAUSEAS and VERY MOOODY, BUT I think the nauseas-ness is getting better fingers crossed.

Best Moment This Week: spending time with my family! God has blessed me with a husband that I know he created just for me, not only that but a sweet baby boy that couldn’t make us more proud to be his parents! I am trying to soak up my family as 3 before new baby becomes because to be honest I cant remember much of what we did with our time before Nate came along and I REALLY want to remember Nate’s only child time!

Movement: call me crazy but I think I felt it yesterday at work… yea yea I know its too early for that most would say but I know the difference between baby moving a gas! it was quick and not hard at all but I am certain it was baby!

Sleep: good until I have to potty!

What I miss: not feeling “normal” but I am not complaining

What I am looking forward to: Hearing the heartbeat again at the doc Jan 12th.

Cravings/Aversions: Anything is good with me!

Symptoms: Tired, Hungry, NAUSEAS and VERY MOOODY

Best Moment This Week: I  was driving minding my own in the left lane when the girl in the right was not paying attention and the car in front of her slowed down, so she ended up rear ending them only to swerve and hit my car… I know it says best moment let me explain… out of that I got an ultrasound and got to see this sweet bambino growing inside of me! It was so cute measuring 5 days further than I am supposed to be and heart just a beating away at 161 bpm! I am so in love with this baby already!

Happy BIRTHday AVA SCOTT WEST

Yesterday was a VERY special day! My friend Lindsey “ZZ” had her baby girl Ava Scott. December 20th is actually Lindsey and her dads birthday too! Ava Scott is a beautiful healthy baby girl weighing in at 6pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long. Lindsey had the best LDnurse Chris(she was my nurse with Nate) and lots of family and friends there to enjoy this special day with her.

December 20 2011 was full of fun surprises! Our friend Desha sent us this picture…..

followed with “ I am Married” ahhh that’s so exciting! Her and Chuck got married yesterday while on a family trip to Disney!! So excited for her! 

I love this time of year and these thing just make it extra special! Not to mention yesterday was my sister in laws birthday too! Happy Birthday aunt Manny!

Cant wait to spend Christmas with family! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

11Weeks

Best Moment This Week: Making time for naps that were MUCH needed!

I wont start pictures yet right now I just look fat and that’s not fun… Just a friendly Public Service Announcement….. When you ask someone there due date and your response is ARE YOU SURE as your eyes BULDGE out of their sockets IS NOT A COMPLEMENT  oh also Are you sure there is just one in there is just a dumb question… don’t you think the ultrasound would have shown two by this point?

This is a kumquat ..as if you didn’t know. Well what you may not know is there is a baby in my tummy about that size. (awe, yay, hip hip hooray clap clap clap) We are so excited to announce Nate will be a big brother on or around July 5th!! I am 10 weeks pregnant and feeling every bit pregnant. When I was pregnant with Nate my most dominate symptom was headaches!! I remember thinking if I could just lay in a dark quiet room the rest of my pregnancy I MAY can handle this, keep in mind that was before 12weeks because  remember having to hide it that my head hurt because we hadn't shared the news yet…

THIS time lots of things are different, I am usually fine until about 2:00 in the afternoon  after that I stay pretty nauseas, Also this time I have had a lot more gas EWW but really I will just burp out of no where  it is so gross! EXAUSTION is an understatement as well as MOODY … sorry Shane But I am not complaining yet ha-ha, I don’t go back to the doctor until Jan for another checkup. This time around Shane and I have decided not to find out the sex of the baby until it is born…. how fun will that be!! Everyone is not a fan of the idea but when they have kids they don’t have to wait to find out if they don’t want to but we do!  BUT for anyone who wants to guess the sex of the baby the heart rate was 171 at our first ultrasound! Nate's was 167 at his first ultrasound.

BEE HIND!!

That’s what I am! BEEHIND on blogging! I guess November got so busy I didn’t make time to blog. So I will briefly catch you up to date and hopefully in December Ill do better. We celebrated my Paws 85th Birthday November 19th! Our family got together at my moms house for lunch. I love getting to see everyone together.

 

 

After my Paws birthday party Shane and I headed to Birmingham with some friends. We ate dinner at O charley’s then headed to the BJCC for the Chris Tomlin concert! It was oh so much fun!

 

Also in November we had our Adult Bible Study Women's’ Retreat. I enjoyed that girls weekend so much. Lots of laughs good food and a trip to all fired up…. I mean who wouldn’t like that?

 

And then of course we had THANKSGIVING!! I love Thanksgiving, family is together and there is always too much food! This year we stayed at Nanas house Thanksgiving eve and had lunch at Nanny and Joes, after that we headed to my sisters house where our family had dinner and we stayed the night Thanksgiving night. BLACK FRIDAY we slept till 8ish then went to the flea markets around town …we stayed away from the craziness! Friday afternoon we headed to a friends house to watch the Iron Bowl on Saturday Ah hem ROLL TIDE I digress …. Friday night we at at Cheddars YUMM every heard of it? if not you should try it that place is delish and so CHEAP! oh and they give you enough food for 4 people just on your one plate!

Today we started out Elf on the shelf adventures! So excited about that now I will at least have that to blog about. This blog has been a jumble of mixed up things but now I am caught up  so I will leave you with this….

remember when… the good ole days

When Uma and Mypop  were here last they brought Nate an orange. I bet your like really a few weeks of no blogging and you start off with that! Well it gets better!!  Uma began to tell Nate We are going to roll it and press it and smash –not too hard! Just enough to get the orange juices going then poke a hole insert a straw and drink the juice! Nate thought it was a fantastic idea! 1 because he loves straws and 2 because he liked playing with an orange like a ball!  Nate loved it so much he cried when we had to throw it away after it was nothing but gross stuff inside.

 

That reminded me of the good ole’ days! I also remember having a picnic in the living room floor, fried chicken was usually on the menu. I remember when we were little the sound of a race on the t.v. seemed like ALL DAY LONG  I mean really don’t those cars go fast what took so long? Spending hours on end at the ball field watching my older siblings play sports, If you know me you know I would much rather spend my time socializing and well eating from the “confession  stand” as I called it when I was little  oh speaking of that who remembers astro pops? I used to get those from the big green concession stand at the ball field when Bip would play baseball. Of course I wouldn’t eat the whole thing before I dropped it or Bip took it from me, but then again what are big brothers for right?!

Anyway this straw in the orange thing really brought to my attention the importance of making memories!  I often worry about not being able to get Nate everything he ever wanted because I mean come on he is my first and only as of now so I don’t want him to want for anything but I know in reality one day he will. Reminiscing about the past really made me realize as long as he feels loved and is having fun in the long run “stuff” wont matter. The things I remember about my childhood are not really things at all. Of course I remember playing with my favorite toys but I don’t remember the toys I wanted and didn’t get which I am sure were many- to me at the time anyway. So from now on I am going to try my best to make memoires that can be passed on from Nate to his children.

One thing coming up is our annual gingerbread house making, We have always since I can remember gotten together in the month of November and Made gingerbread houses. When we were little we would go to the beach with my dads family for thanksgiving and we would make them there with all of my cousins, the adults would bake the gingerbread cut out the pattern put the houses together and we would decorate. Now things are a little more simple. Its just my Mom and her children  mom buys the ginger bread house kits and what la .. off to work we go! This is more of a tradition than memories I guess but  often memories are made from traditions and this is one I want to pass on… tired yet?

What are some of your favorite childhood memoires or traditions? are you starting new traditions? Something to think about out I just feel like “these  days” too much importance is put on what “things” you have in your life who has more than you and how you can keep up with the Jones’ and not who you, have the memories being made and the love and friendships between us and others.

Happy Halloween

We have been so busy with Halloween festivities lately! Friday we had his Halloween party at school and he had a blast!! The only thing he didn’t like was when his friends tried to touch his wings! Here are a few pictures from Friday. They played games  watched Dora, colored with dot dots and ate Chic a lay for lunch.. that’s a great day in Nates world!

Friday night Uma and Mypop came to spend the night we had a great dinner at Long Horn! Saturday we got up and went to some yard sales… where we got a great deal on a piece of furniture… I have picked up a hobby of refinishing/ distressing old furniture I cant wait to see how this one comes out I am sure it will end up on here.

Sunday was our church fall festival Nate is not much for waiting his turn in line so we had to play the games with short lines. Every time he would get a new piece of candy he would open it and throw the other away.. so we ended up with no good candy Oh well guess that’s less ill get to eat here are a few pictures from our church festival…

My favorite day of the week

Today was a very relaxing, do nothing, hangout with my little guy kind of day! I enjoy these days so much because I know they wont last forever! 

It is very rare that we don’t have anything at all planned to do on  nateday… but today was an exception  We woke up watch Nate's “shows” Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates! We do this everyday , I enjoy our morning time so much! For breakfast Nate choose an apple! yummy after breakfast Nate looked at me and said “ you you play wif me?” I said sure I would love to he said “ you play wif my toys?” I said sure so we headed to his room… this kids LOVES Choo Choo Train…

After that we ate dinner which Nate had “cassawoah” and loves it! then we cleaned up and headed to church! I love Wednesday night church! it just pushes us on to the weekend! I am so thankful for our church family, it doesn’t hurt that Nate loves to go to church and after being at home with him all day by my self a little adult interaction is never bad!

SO happy Hump day my friends! Cant wait for our un- eventful weekend ahead! that we have planned.. well we have no plans planned YAY!!

Summer 2011 Shindigs....

Today I am going to post the highlights of our summer...in no particular order! We had a GREAT summer! Two of our closest friends give birth 11 days apart, we went to the beach 4 times, celebrated birthdays, little man got his second set of tubes, UNCLE B got MARRIED, student life camp :) and swim kids...yes those are the highlights! We were very very busy this summer but had a great time and made lots of memories. If you don't like to see cute kids or people having fun exit out now! There are loads of pics in this post all for you to enjoy!

SECOND baby 11 days after Miss.Eva is MISS.ALAINA!! I mean who couldnt love this sweet face! these sweet babies did nothing for my fever...just made it worse!

This was EARLY very early in the morning before Nate got his second set of tubes and his adnoids removed! Poor baby had no idea what was about to happen but he recovered quickly and I think they help a LOT!! :) Praise God!
